Monday 14th - bike ***** - Two Rivers, the Orwell to the Deben – sunny and warm.

After three days of windsurfing foiling it was nice to woke early to a still, sunny and warm day with temperatures forecast to reach nearly 30 degrees:) So Mag and I quickly decided to have our morning cuppa at one of our favourites, the old jetty at Landguard. Leaving home at 6.45 on our bikes we had just missed the sunrise as we headed to the end of our road to get the first glimpse of a mirror calm sea with the sun still a red ball for my first photo opportunity! Then down to a lovely quiet prom, always the best time of day, great to get away from the weekend crowds! Just a few open water swimmers and paddle boarders making the most of the perfect conditions:) Then on through Landguard Nature Reserve with just a few bunnies and a lone photographer heading home after capturing the sunrise. We were soon enjoying a cuppa looking out across the River Orwell towards Walton with a dredger returning plus a few fishing boats, yachts and a couple of silver twin haul survey looking boats whizzing out. Looking up river past Felixstowe docks it was shrouded in mist making it look like there were magical islands of trees, just lovely. We had diving terns and even jumping fish and spent ages taking it all chatting:) Time to head back, again Mag turns up Bent Hill for home while as usual continue onto Felixstowe Ferry. IN the light airs it was up to its very best, a day boat with bunting was moored at the jetty, then the ferry arrived and my favourite red, white and blue boat was floating today as the tide was high, so yet more lovely pics, I just can’t help myself:) Then out onto the Deben path past the horrendous huge house they are building in the car park, the Environmental Agency were there about to cut the overgrown path. Then on reaching Kings Fleet I turned left onto the farm track leading to Marsh Lane, then Ferry Lane and home. So, another 5 Star three-hour bike ride in stunning weather and never was breakfast more welcome when I got home! Then exercises and dozing in the back garden before a quick trip to town and another day over!
